CoffeeGeek - Cona Size A / B - MARIA MERCEDES's Review

CoffeeGeek - Cona Size A / B - MARIA MERCEDES's Review ()

„The Cory's mouth is not very wide, but allowed me to insert my hand in it for scrubbing,  but judging by the photograph of the Cona  I assumed  no hand and even no finger could be inserted in it! So I was prepared for a "brownish" bottom pot and  even for not being able to display my Cona! But I just wanted good coffee and I didn't mind this. But I've find this not to be true: with a little of care the bottom of the Cona can be kept immaculate,  as long as you  clean it every time you use it, of course.“

CoffeeGeek - Isomac Tea - Daniel Parilla's Review

„ Put it to a little round robin last weekend for a party, and it had me in and out of the kitchen quickly.  No lag time between shots, quick milk steaming and coffee that my guests say is better than the Tully's coffee downstairs.  Even a little latte art is showing up in my drinks.  I am still happy with the purchase (as is my wife, who calls it "groucho" after the semblance of a face on the machine.)“

„ but you won't break the bank.  With a little practice you will consistently produce drinks much better than Starbucks and 99.9% of the espresso stands out there.“

CoffeeGeek - Astra Gourmet G - Gregory Scace's Review

„ But I couldn't froth milk while steaming, and steaming milk upset the Silvia’s temperature equilibrium, requiring a lengthy period for the Silvia to recover.  I knew that the double boiler concept was inherently superior to single boiler or single boiler with heat exchanger machines, but I didn't like various aspects of two small double boiler machines currently on the market and I couldn't afford a LaMarzocco 1 group.  So I decided to keep my eyes open for the next best thing - a single boiler heat exchanger machine intended for commercial service.  I didn't want to go the Isomac route, or buy any of the other e-61 machines since they all had small boilers and rather anemic heaters by pro machine standards.“

CoffeeGeek - Coffee: Machines and Brewing Methods, Bummed with BUNN CoffeeGeek - Coffee: Machines and Brewing Methods, Bummed with BUNN

„ I can say that the commercial Bunn makers are mostly excellent.  But the consumer BT10 has several major issues.  Despite what others have said on this forum, neither the Bunn filters, shower head restrictor, or a finer grind can keep the overflow issue from happening.  The reason is simple - the basket is too small.“

„ But for nearly free it's a darn good coffeemaker, at least enough to get you by while you shop for a really nice one.  My only complaint about the Gevalia glass carafe coffeemaker that I have is that the water only comes out of one hole, so it's not very well dispersed over all the grounds.“
