CoffeeGeek - Coffee: Machines and Brewing Methods, Swissgold press pot filter source (#)
„ I am in the same boat as cexshun though - I need my 32 oz bodum in case I am making coffee for 3 people, so I swapped the filters. If not for my need for the additional volume, I would have been happy to keep the SwissGold press and sell the bodum. After I swapped the filters so that my Bodum now has the SG filter, I unloaded the SG pot with OEM Bodum filter iontop a coworker who will no doubt be less anal retentive than I am about sludgy coffee.“

„It works great, and paired with a Bodum French Press (1L capacity) I'm off and running with "real" coffee now.“

„ I gave $40 for it, which is high, but the McKee's seem to be rather rare, and it is in fantastic condition. I am happy anyway; it is pictured under my name now to the left.EDIT: The Bodum Stovetop Santos is pictured, my new baby! I am a vac pot junkie now! I already know that I want to start collecting.“

„Bottom Line: Much better than hot plate type brewers which burn coffee from sitting and very often brew too quickly. If you have to use a drip machine, get one with a thermal carafe and showerhead design like this one.“

„ If you just game it a little bit 8 cup setting with 6 cups water, or 10 cup setting with 6 cups water and play with the grinder setting, you can brew very strong coffee. Not expresso mind you, but good strong coffee (I use Seattle Mtn. Coffee). The grinder is loud if you standing in the kitchen, but what grinder isn't (the grounds are nicely ground and can be seen through the viewing port)?“

„I purchased my Zassenhaus about a year ago as a replacement for my first grinder, a Bodum Antigua. Based on the wealth of information I read at Sweet Maria's, I thought it would be a good moderately priced alternative to the much more expensive espresso grade grinders (e.g. Rancilio Rocky). I was primarily brewing French Press and vac pot at the time, and was not satisfied with the uneven grind the Antigua offered.“
