CoffeeGeek - Coffee: Home Roasting Talk, Suggestions on Grean Espresso Beans? Any good FairTrade blends? (#)
„I was wondering if anybody has found any great FairTrade, Organic or ShadeGrown blends? I've been using Sweet Maria's Italian and Monkey blends but would like to do some good with my purchases if possible? I'd been looking into it for awhile and after seen the last article in here I think it would be (as Martha "Jailbird" Stewart would say) "A good thing"!“

„A Shot in the Dark is a nice little drink. It's your normal brewed coffee (hopefully made with premium, fresh roasted, fresh ground beans) with a double espresso shot added for good measure. It's pretty straightforward, but not many people know about this wonder booster. It is also known as a Depth Charge, though I refuse to call it that - a depth charge to me is a tequila shot dropped in a pint of beer!“

„If I were you I would go to the roasters and ask them where they get their beans from. remember Fairtrade is a brand which means you have to be certified to use the word (it also means loads of fairly traded coffee gets less support because there are only so many people Oxfam can help in the world)“

„The Saeco line of fully automated machines are modern and elegant, easy to use, and at the touch of a button, they - grind whole beans for each cup individually, allow users to choose the strength of the dose, tamp the coffee to ensure perfection, perform the brewing and dispense authentic espresso complete with a thick golden cream. Oh, and it will also dispose of the used coffee grounds in a special drawer so the machine is 'ready-to-go' for next time.“

„As I am starting in the espresso world, I am looking to find a good local source for great Italian coffee beans that are well-priced for what you are getting. Having tasted and liked Lavazza coffees (Top Class and Pienaroma) I am particularly interested in finding a source for them. I know that Milano's in Montreal sells them for about 20 - 25 per kilo, but I was wondering if anybody knows any Toronto sources like this. Any other local suggestions to try would be great.“

„Received a can of illy as a present a while ago. There are plenty of discussions on illy beans, so won't go into that here. I do like the container though :-) Just wondering what others do with the empty container? A waste throwing it away...“
