„on the "commons" dowtown, a new cafe was being complete where the Home Dairy restaurant and bakery once resided (their legendary sticky buns are sorely missed). The new place is a "yerba mate" cafe. Yes....only in Ithaca - an entire "yerba mate" house.“

„According to San Francisco history, this legendary drink was created in 1952 at the Buena Vista, the now landmark restaurant and bar. Apparently the owner, Jack Koeppler, read about a hot coffee and whiskey beverage that was tasted in Ireland by the travel columnist, Stanton Delaplane. Mr. Koeppler was so intent on making this drink perfectly he traveled to Ireland to confer with it's creator, Shannon Airport bartender Joe Sheridan.“

„And Chango's chamamé has an almost cinematic quality, richly conveying a sense of rustic, rural communities set in a rough-hewn landscape. Where yerba mate tea is harvested by machete-wielding field workers and the temperature hovers around 40 Celsius for much of the year. Chamamé also powerfully echoes the diverse cultures that have settled here. From the indigenous Mbyá-Guarani Amerindians, to creoles and European settlers who arrived in the 19th century and introduced the accordion - Chango's instrument of choice. “
