CoffeeGeek - Baratza and Solis Bring You the Palazzo Super Automatic (#)
„Short Throw Travel Path: One problem with many Super Automatics is the long internal path the brewed espresso must travel to get to the cup. On the Palazzo, this pathway is very short - approximately 2.5 inches from the group to the dispensing spouts. The result is espresso that doesn’t cool down on the way from the group to your cup.“

„First you make your coffee (not pictured), and brew your shot, double shot, double ristretto, you name it. Here about 2.5 ounces of espresso is brewed.“

„The roasting and preparation of coffee is a huge feature of my everyday life. Not a day goes by that I don’t roast coffee, or make espresso or brewed coffee. While I’m constantly learning, I feel fairly comfortable with these basic skills. Obviously a great deal of learning has occurred in a few years.“

„An espresso maker must have an electric pump or hydraulic lever arrangement to make espresso. Espresso, if you have read one of the many articles on the subject, is coffee brewed under high pressure by passing hot water through finely ground coffee. The brew pressure, for extracting espresso coffee from finely ground java, can be produced by a vibration pump, common in all home machines, a hydraulic piston manual lever configuration, or a rotary or volumetric pump, the likes of which are found in high end commercial machines.“

„I've been drinking coffee since I was about 14 or so (24 now), but it was always a very casual experience with little appreciation for the brew (because there was little to appreciate, believe me!) My town didn't even get a Starbucks until a few years ago, so my first experience with espresso and espress-based drinks was at some of the local shops. I was around 16 when I first experienced espresso, but I wasn't intrigued; looking back with what I know now it was a really bad experience. I developed an affinity for a cappa or a latte, and that became my drink of choice for many years; it was something I took time out of my day, every day, to enjoy.“

„Good espresso at home: to even hope for a decent result one must spend about $200 - $225 for an espresso machine and about $175 to $275 for a grinder. If you go much cheaper than that you're better off getting a Moka pot (aka stove-top "espresso-maker"). Good moka coffee ain't the same as good espresso but it's way better than bad espresso.“
