„Mark's review is, I think, very fair. We have owned a Technivorm K862 for several years now and continue to be extremely happy with it. I would guess the current model that is closest to ours is the KB741 - it and ours use a thermal carafe to keep the brewed coffee warm. We use the de-scaling feature regularly.“

„I guess the most important thing is the temperatures - all the claims by Technivorm and the SCAA's testing are true - this is a 200F+ brewer. I ran the fluke on it in five separate tests, under a variety of conditions (hot water to start, cold water to start, cold draft hitting the machine, etc). Here's the averages, from the time I flipped the brew switch (note, water doesn't start entering the filter area until around 55seconds or so, and the first "with water" measurements are a ramp up).“

„The intensity of the coffee is excellent using this technique, and no longer is the timing of the water passing through the coffee dependent on the grind; too coarse and the brew tastes week and under-infused, too fine and it is bitter and has sediment). This improves the performance of Swiss Gold filters in the Technivorm too, and we currently use one here at the shop with great results. I also stir my grinds in the filterholder after 2 minutes, but this is purely optional. The danger of my technique: if you forget to switch the brewer to Slow Drip after a minute or two, it is going to overflow.“
