[the unstoppable girlie~dervish] screw liquor, sangria is quicker: I groaned until my boy woke up so that he could fetch me some Cherry-flavored Pepto. Pepto makes me happy b/c it reminds me of this antibiotic Ceclor that I used to take alot as a kid. After two bottles of water and some overtures to wanting something hot and cheesy, I laid awake moaning and rubbing my belly until the sun came up. At which point my boy, clearly aggravated at the lack of sleep before needing to cook his dad breakfast, helped me with some more Aleve and water so that I'd be quiet for a bit.

[SysterYster] The dog doom...: out of a superdysfunctional family where various members owns hunting labradors ( they look good with guns and green suede pants)I went and got myself a whippet. Dont get me wrong, out of the fishing, hunting and riding set I more than happily pick fishing and horses but I cant shoot to save myself and hoever much I love the labs I wont have one in my abode, after all, they are labradors and do labradors things, mine would choke to death on a sock before we could say 'go fetch!' and what I wanted was something warm and soft in my bed ( for lack of something else)someone to make me smile and lay around in the couch with the cats....a dog that could go with me to the stable, run loose in the woods on long walks but be handy enough to drop off at my mums if I need to. Add sheer beauty and power and you have a Whippet.

[fishtown chatter] Harold's Country Club and Gas Station-Yemassee, SC: I go to Beaufort, SC regularly because I have great friends there who make me laugh, fetch me cold beers, take me fishing, introduce me to other great friends and keep me sane. It is a 6 and a half hour drive one-way any way you slice it, but a dozen good CD's and the hospitality that awaits makes it all worth it. My best buddy Scott, (and I don't say this because I rank my friends-it's just a fact that he is the closest and most loyal friend I've ever had), owns a house that sits on the Intracoastal Waterway featuring a view from the backyard that is simply breathtaking.

 [Too Many Chefs] Another Sunday Breakfast: Peugeot started out making small mechanical tools like coffee grinders, moved to bicycles in the 1920s and finally ended up making cars. And in a tribute to its origins, the company still produces coffee grinders. But mine has a lovely patina and a broken metal Peugeot plaque and I reckon it dates from somewhere in the beginning of the 20th century. Decorative and and useful - my favourite kind of kitchen gadget!
