Coffee: Resources for home espresso (#)
„If you live in the U.S., these genuine Italian beans won't necessarily be as freshly roasted as other sources, but they get the roast (and grind, if you buy ground) exactly right for espresso. Having troublemaking espresso? This is a good reference bean, and grind.“

„I love the Major for both espresso and drip, but really was excited about the forte for espresso. Here in Va the local coffee shops over roast(BURN)their beans. As always I had my freshly roasted beans in two days. I can highly praise the Forte roast and the awesome gang at Peets.“

„I roast and grind small quantities of green coffee, grown on my estate, at least thrice a week," says Nandan. Small quantities of coffee can also be roasted on top of a stove or in an oven at 400° F. Home roasted coffee is more aromatic than that bought at the store, and its freshness definitely compensates for any small failings in the roasting procedure.“

„Specialty coffees were sold whole-bean, freshly roasted, in stores that offered their customers a wide range of choice in roast style and origin. Commercial coffees were represented by the almost identical contents of cans lined up like fat little percolator-ready soldiers on supermarket shelves.“

„Supplier of freshly roasted coffee and espresso. Espresso roast is lighter than typical American espresso yielding a thick espresso with a sweet reddish-brown crema. Mauro Cipolla was trained in the fine art of espresso roasting and blending in Italy and has brought this tradition to Seattle. I recommend the Firenze blend which is prepared in the Northern Italian tradition to be mild, aromatic, sweet and smooth. Robusta is undoubtedly used in his blends.“

„Green coffee will store well for over a year without loss in character whereas a roasted coffee will be best consumed within a week. Buying your beans unroasted will allow you to make large purchases without worrying about the beans going bad.“
