Coffee Brewing (#)
„As the water begins to boil pour the coffee into the coffee filter. Now as the water pours over the coffee shake the basket (removable in the Technivorm) to ensure an even extraction. Brew time and temperature are taken care of automatically. If your brewer has a hot plate under a glass carafe, remove the carafe after the coffee is fully brewed to prevent the coffee from burning.“

„When all of your samples are prepared, fill each cup with identical volumes of water heated to brewing temperature (a little short of boiling). As you pour the water over the coffee make certain you wet all of the grounds. Fill the cups to about a half-inch below the lip.“

„Pour it into a warmed mug or coffee cup so that it will maintain its temperature as long as possible. Brewed coffee begins to lose its optimal taste moments after brewing so only brew as much coffee as will be consumed immediately. If it will be a few minutes before it will be served, the temperature should be maintained at 180 - 185 degrees Fahrenheit. It should never be left on an electric burner for longer than 15 minutes because it will begin to develop a burned taste.“

„I do wish there were fewer steps in the process - pre-heat the carafe, fill a water pitcher with filtered water, fill the brew basket, dump the hot water from the carafe and place it into position, pour the fresh water into the machine and close the lid. Some of this is because of the Bunn's process and some is simply a fact of life with a thermal carafe. Heat retention of the thermal carafe is still a little disappointing. And I am still not sure that it's worth the $140 price I paid, but knowing how good the result is, if this is the price for good coffee at home, that's fine with me.“

„Always begin with Filtered cold water and bring to a rolling boil. When brewing Green tea or white tea, make sure the water poured over the leaves is not boiling temperature, as this hot a temperature will "cook" the leaves and destroy the tea and its flavor, creating a bitter tasting tea.“

„Caused when the lid is not on correctly or if the lid is damaged. If you have a thermal decanter, make sure the ARROW "Brew/Pour" is pointing toward the spout when brewing.“
