Coffee Brewers: French Press/Cafetiere from Bodum, Melior, Chambord, and French Press Parts! (#)
„The advantage is clear: there is no longer a layering of screens and you will no longer face those annoying grinds that get trapped between the layers. The SwissGold Filter Disc fits standard French Presses of many makes with a 3.5" inside diameter, including the Bodum 6 or 8 Tasse press (24-32 oz sizes) AND the new 4 Tasse Bodum Press we stock. It will not fit the diameter of the 3 Tasse (12 oz), or 12 Tasse (48 oz). You would assume it is made from SwissGold material but in fact this would be too fine for a French Press and you would never be able to plunge it!“

„This versatile coffee grinder prepares beans for any method of coffee brewing. Three different grind settings offer a range of grinds from coarse for coffee percolators to medium for drip coffeemakers to fine for espresso makers. Whichever grind you prefer, the burr grinding wheels always produces grounds of a uniform texture. The transparent lid easily pops off to load the grinder with whole beans.“

„Coffee begins losing its flavor one hour after having been ground. For best results, it is recommended to grind the coffee just before preparing it. The grind of the coffee depends on the desired preparation of the coffee: a coarse grind should be used when there is more time for contact with the water, a fine grind when there is less. Canned coffees labeled "drip" or "auto-drip" are more finely ground, while those labeled "perk", "electric perk" or "regular" are more coarsely ground.“

„Bottom Line: The Solis Maestro handles the finer grinds but cannot produce the consistently coarse grind needed to produce excellent French press coffee.“

„I used to work at prominent kitchenware store and didn't hear good customer reviews about the Cusineart Grind and Brew and the Capresso....The Melitta makes a great cup of coffee, it's easy to use, grinds the beans quickly and you get your choice of course to super fine. The only programing is easy as is the clean up...no hassle which was important to me. The only thing I have noticed is that you need to use more scoops of beans than specified.“
