CoffeeGeek - Espresso: Machines and Grinders, Why is the 'THERMOBLOC' so despised by many GEEKS
„Usually marketed by Krups, Capresso, Delonghi and other companies, Thermoblocks are technically espresso machines (in that they are pump driven), but the heating element inside is, for the most part, inadequate for the rather complex task of producing espresso and steamed milk. The thermoblocks are akin to a car radiator - water is flash heated as it passes through. They tend to give under extracted shots because the piping inside the thermoblock leeches away your high pressure. Steam power and longevity is also questionable because of the lack of adequate airspace to build up steam pressure.“

„We had been wanting a fully automatic Capresso C3000 for quite some time, so when we passed the Nespresso booth at the Las Vegas Coffeefest we didn't really give their machines a second thought. The machine looked very cool, but we weren't interested in another manual espresso machine. We also assumed that the use of pods would result in stale, bland coffee.“

„I purchased the CoffeeTEC from Capresso's website as a factory referb for $119, not much more expensive than the eSantos. As someone in another post pointed out, there is a similar machine called the Melitta Choco Latte that is manufactured by Capresso, but has less of the fancy features (timer, 3-4 cup brew cycle etc.). You can buy it new for $99.“
