At our table Lauren's on one side of me, Chloe's on the other along with Baxter Priestly, Johnathon Schaech, Carolyn Murphy, Brandon Lee, Chandra North, Shalom Harlow, John Leguizamo, Kirsty Hume, Mark Vanderloo, JFK Jr., Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Patsy Kensit, Noel Gallagher, Alicia Silverstone and someone who I'm fairly sure is Beck or looks like Beck and it seems like everyone's wearing very expensive pantsuits. Earlier in the day I was upset that Chloe and I weren't seated at Damien's table (because there were things I had to say to David Geffen and an apology I had to make to Calvin) but right now, watching Alison slumped against Damien while trying to light a joint the size of a very long roll of film, everyone very buzzed, people knocking into each other as table-hopping on a very massive scale resumes while cappuccino's served, everything sliding in and out of focus, it's okay.“

„At first I was skeptical of the pressurized filters but when I let go of my desire to produce the perfect grind, pull time and tamp pressure I found that the machine produces a good shot with nice crema with no work at all and that's fine with me. I drink cappuccino's so people that are focused on espresso alone may not be satisfied with the shots. The frother is small and insufficient for producing a really dry foam or frothing large amounts of milk. The pannarello frothing attachment is not worth the time it takes to clean it.“

„I partially retract that remark. A couple years ago I had cinsistently good cappuccino's at a tiny Italian restaurant on Caye Caulker (an island off the coast of Belize South America). The owner used an old La Pavoni manual lever machine and single origin Guatemalan beans of unknown provenance (he bought them from a food wholesaler on the mainland in Belize City). It proved to me that the person running the equipment, their level of skill and passion for a good cup are huge factors (he was a native of Milan Italy).“

„I have owned a La Pavoni Professional for several months.  I'm a new comer to making cappuccino's but I have been trying to get a good froth with the my machine to no avail.  I have watched and talked with the barrister at my local Peet's coffee and it has not helped.  I finally had a friend come over who has been in the coffee buisness for years and also couldn't get good froth.“

„Surely I could get a good drink here. The elderly man at the counter understood little English but I finally got him to agree to make two cappuccino's. After steaming the milk directly in the cup (apparently a common practice in this area), he started to pour regular drip coffee in the drink - yuck! We managed to bridge the language gap and convince him that a real cappuccino required espresso.“

„I show up and watch a couple of drinks prepped before I order. I've given up on lattes and usually order cappuccino's because you can't taste the coffee at most places. And more often than not, I still get a stinking latte with no coffee flavor.
