[Vancouver Coffee] The coffee is popular in the US and Japan, and is now available online. I’ve no personal interest in trying it, but if you do - go for it.

Vancouver Coffee: Starbucks, and some other coffee shops, have a specific policy of giving away their used coffee grounds to gardeners. While they tend to be only slightly acidic, they also tend to improve the acidity of garden soil through the same chemical processes which cause sawdust to do the same thing. (via Cosmos)
Pack The Cat: Would you like to try a crappy cup of coffee? No really, that’s not a criticism of coffee but a debait I’m having with myself. You can now order coffee beens off the internet that have been excreted out of a rare Indonesian monkey. It’s called “Kopi Luwak” and it’s around $75 for a quarter pound. The monkeys roam around the coffee trees eating the red cherries, they only digest the skins and excrete nearly whole beans. Peole who have tryed this coffee say that the animal’s digestive track add to the flavor of the coffee. I’ve read that best if you take it to your local coffee brewster and ask them to make an esspresso out of it. (Esspresso is unfiltered vs regualr filtered coffee, more coffee oil and more flavor.) You can order a sample box for $20 (+ sh) for a sample box. Anyone think I should try it? (via Cosmos)
The Daily Nugget - News Sprinkled with Sarcastic Commentary: website is "from cat to cup." That's because the Luwak, a marsupial that looks like a cat in the islands of Indonesia, climbs trees, eats the ripest coffee beans and shits them out in nice fermented clumps (pictured here). Local villagers go out and collect the droppings and sell them around the world for as much as $75 per pound. (via Cosmos)

[The FÃÃLs Progress] Weekend Jam: Not because its ‘executive class’, but I’m impressed by the computerised man-machine interface on the dashboard. There’s a camera mounted at the blind side and there’s sensors and a guidance system to assist the driver in parking and negotiating tight spots.

[Crema-crema.blogspot.com] My life without caffeine?: The study, which followed 128,000 men and women for as long as 20 years, showed that drinking filtered coffee - not espresso or French-style brews - did not raise the risk of heart disease. Heavy coffee drinkers did tend to smoke and drink alcohol more often and those two factors clearly did raise heart risk, the researchers reported in the journal Circulation.
