„The ACE (Alliance for Coffee Excellence) jointly run the Cup of Excellence competition. It's a strict competition that selects the very best coffee produced in that country for that particular year. These winning coffees are chosen by a select group of national and international cuppers and are cupped at least five different times during the competition process.“

„By registering for the auction the coffee trade gets to pick and purchase great coffees without any searching and with the knowledge that the winners were chosen through a rigorous blind cupping process. Owning these coffees is of critical importance to the specialty coffee roaster whose customers demand quality and uniqueness. Historically many of these same quality coffees have been impossible to find, either vanishing into a blend or disappearing through a co-op or an exporter to favored clients.“
