„Friday, 15 December, 2000, 18:06 GMT Red tape 'helping China overtake EU' Silver Spoon: part of the Associated British Foods portfoilo The boss of one of Europe's top food firms has called on policy makers to ease the burden of red tape on businesses, or risk seeing China overtake the EU in the world economic league. It seems to me that there is once again an increasing trend for more regulation Harry Bailey, chairman, ABF Harry Bailey, chairman of the firm which owns Ryvita, Silver Spoon sugar and Twinings tea, is warning against the growth in regulation and protectionism, and urged a broader awareness of the role of free trade in boosting living standards. Firms in Europe face increasing red tape in the environmental, occupational health, employment and corporate governance areas, Mr Bailey told shareholders of Associated British Foods. He also noted a decision by the European Parliament on Wednesday to pass changes, bitterly opposed by UK businesses, which could spell the end of hostile takeovers in the EU.“

„Low Graphics Saturday, 8 December, 2001, 13:04 GMT Viennese in a froth over Starbucks Vienna's first Starbucks: no-smoking allowed The American coffee chain Starbucks has opened its first branch in Vienna, the historic heartland of European coffee culture. But it is not clear how keen the city's coffee drinkers will be to swap a traditional brew in one of the city's famous coffee houses for a caramel macchiato to go, served in a paper cup. I've never heard of Starbucks, but I wouldn't go to a coffee house where you can't smoke Cosmetics worker Ulli Schiller Vienna has prided itself on its coffee tradition ever since 1683, when Turkish soldiers laying siege to the city left behind sacks of coffee beans.“

„Time to pour the microfrothed milk. Folks, quality cappuccino froth is ALWAYS poured, never spooned. If your froth requires you to spoon (or you see it done that way in a cafe), it was frothed poorly. Microfroth pours.“
