„I have also noticed that drinking less means that you notice the hit more, especially with instant. Whilst an expresso/filter based coffee has more caffeine than instant I find it smoother whereas instant is a bit rough, so much to my kettle's dismay I have started going for the better quality stuff all round. Well there it is, more of a rant, than a concise journal entry but you have to go with the flow, if you know what I mean. Love'n'hugs Dr.“

„"All you are doing is changing one gene and blocking caffeine biosynthesis so it should taste like full-flavoured coffee or tea." So far, the researchers have only decoded the gene in the laboratory. Developing decaffeinated tea or coffee plants could take five to 10 years. Professor Crozier says decaff plants could be grown within 10 years And the plants, being genetically-modified, would have to undergo rigorous safety checks to ensure they were safe for both public consumption and the environment. Some people avoid caffeine, complaining of side effects such as palpitations, indigestion, and insomnia.“

„But there was no explanation as to why men fared no better after their caffeine fix. He told the London Evening Standard: "The effect may not last for very long, but a quick double espresso probably would make the pain of something like leg-waxing more bearable. "We need a lot more research into the differences between the genders when it comes to pain. "It may be that painkillers need to be tailored differently to the sexes to ensure they are as effective as possible." Caffeine is already included as an ingredient in some painkilling tablets - but only in relatively small doses.“

„The Stove-top Espresso MakerUse fine ground coffeeEspresso is seriously strong coffee. It is normally drunk in tiny cups so that a single shot of espresso has no more caffeine than a mug of normal coffee. The name is Italian and means 'made under pressure' rather than 'quickly' as many people seem to think. For those who prefer the coffee slightly less strong, it can be diluted with boiling water, but it will always have a burnt taste. The simplest way to make espresso is with a stove-top espresso pot.“
