This industry involves over 1000 small farmers united within three Vanilla Grower Associations and, even though Lever Brothers has pulled out, they continue to successfully produce organically certified vanilla. Also, the largest local grower/processor of poultry products linked up with farmer societies for the introduction of hybrid corn production to meet increasing demand for livestock feed. Now several thousand small farmers produce locally grown corn under a guaranteed buy back system while quadrupling yields and doubling income.“

The cake is the newest addition to their range of Fairtrade foods and will be available on supermarket shelves in two weeks time. George Alagiah added'the new Mark is bold and it is visible - it says that we are not going to be shy about pushing the virtues of quantity and equity that we stand for.'“
