Amazon.com: Kitchen & Housewares: Farberware Classic Yosemite Stainless Steel Percolator ()

„The handle is synthetic (to stay cool) and slightly textured, a combination ensuring safe, comfortable pouring. Because the percolator is made of highly polished 18/10 stainless steel, the beauty of its gleaming mirror finish is long-lasting. To fully maintain the finish, the percolator should be hand washed, although the filter basket and glass cap can go into the dishwasher. The percolator stands 8-1/2 inches high on a 6-1/4-inch-diameter base.“

„This could be the world's best little perculator except for one major flaw. The clear viewing ball on the lid is made of plastic, becomes brittle in relatively short time, and it WILL break. According to the manufacturer, you cannot simply purchase the ball - you must replace the entire lid.“

Amazon.com: Books: The Village Baker: Classic Regional Breads from Europe and America

„I started with his basic French bread recipe. This involves proofing the dry yeast with warm water, then pouring the lot into a pile of flour, either beating or mixing (I use a Kitchenaid, and he has specific instructions for hand, mixer or food processor.) I used ice water (weird, but keeps the dough at 75 degrees F, necessary for the correct build of the gluten.) I threw in the ascorbic acid into the yeast, and the salt into the dough as instructed. I went for more water in the dough as Ortiz recommends if you can handle it. I followed his instructions to the letter, as best I could.“

„Remember when iced coffee was leftover, cooled down, muddy brew from the percolator? After pouring it over ice, all that may have been needed was a little sugar and cream to liven it up. There will always be traditional iced coffee drinkers, those so frugal they can’t throw out a drop.“
