Amazon.com: Books: Espresso served here! featuring Linda Latte: The official espresso humor book (#)
„I saw so much of myself and my caffeine addicted friends in this book. I felt empathy for Linda Latte and her plight to kick the coffee habit. I've given this book as a gift countless times and every time it is well-received (albeit in hands that are shaking and sweaty) but they love it none-the-less. I even put the first five pages in my Braun coffee grinder and created my own blend, "Linda's Blend", it's light, lively with mocha afternotes and it's a good source of fiber.“

„They do their job, you do yours, and that's that. The hot coffee is just coffee, consumed for morning caffeine or to stave off the afternoon sleepies, to wash down the donut or just out of habit. Like the humdrum of daily people, it is anonymous and unremarkable in its utilitarian disguise.“

„On coffee farms, large and small, the prevalence of children is significant - some playing, others caring for young siblings and still others working alongside their parents. When visiting the fields as a coffee buyer or visitor, one nearly always encounters children beneath the branches of the coffee trees picking the red beans, their nimble hands often outpacing those of their parents.“

„Needless to say, the whole thing becomes an international comedy of errors. Allen is an elegant prose stylist, providing countless insights about people and his beloved brew: ``Turkish coffee is like a clenched fist in a cup, tight, bitter, and black. The Yemen version, which comes glowing golden in a large glass tumbler, is a lighter, whimsical brew, deliciously sweet.'' In Vienna, Allen discovers how the invading Ottoman Turks brought coffee to Europe, transforming the whole continent. The author describes precaffeinated Europe as deadly dull, ``a lot like Nebraska on a slow weekendchurch or beer.'' Coffee was a harbinger for European political reform, especially in England and France.“

„Like I mentioned earlier, I spent almost a week using every moment of free time contemplating my plight. I was surfing the Net, irritating anyone I could find with a Pavoni by bombarding them with questions via e-mail, calibrating an electronic temperature probe, adjusting the boiler temperature, getting a dedicated espresso grinder, trying different beans, etc.“
